Donovan Mitchell’s record-breaking 71-point game

Donovan Mitchell is a star shooting guard for the Cleveland cavaliers. Last night in a game against the Chicago Bulls he put up a record-breaking 71 points. This is the most amount of points scored in a single game ever by a Cleveland cavalier smashing the previous record of 58 points. Not only did Mitchell break a franchise record but that is the most amount of points scored by a player in the last 17 years.

This game was not all easy for the Cavs though as they trailed the Bulls by as much as 21 points. When it came down to crunch time and the Cavs were down by 2 points with just a few seconds left, Mitchell made a very smart play when he only had one free throw left and they needed 2 points. He threw the ball off of the rim and got it back laying it in to tie the game as time was expiring. In the extra overtime period, Mitchell led the Cavs to a win dropping 13 points in a crucial moment for the Cavs.

This game will forever go down in the record books not only for Donovan Mitchell but for the entire NBA as well.
